‘No visible wounds’: 22 people found dead in South Africa bar

At least 22 young people were found dead at a nightclub under mysterious circumstances in a township in South Africa’s southern city of East London.
Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana said on Sunday police were alerted by members of the public to the incident at Scenery Park.
“The circumstances under which they died are under investigation,” Kinana said, adding it was too early to determine the cause of death of the young adults aged between 18 and 20 years.
The bodies will be transported to state mortuaries where relatives are expected to help identify the victims, said Siyanda Manana, a spokesperson for the Eastern Cape provincial health department.
“We are going to immediately be embarking on autopsies so we can know the probable cause of death,” he said. “We are talking 22 bodies right now.”

  1. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:15)
And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. (Revelation14:9-11)

  2. I'm staying a few kilometers from the area where this tragedy happened. Reports says kids died of carbon monoxide poisoning. Youngsters were aged between 13 and 17 years. In South Africa we have what is called "loadshedding" during winter season (Google the term). A generator was used to keep the electricity on. They say the generator was the cause of the poisoning.

  3. The tavern was too full. People who were there said security sprayed pepper spray to control the crowd. So people inside couldn’t breath also couldn’t get out as crowd outside was pushing to get in. The tavern also had one door. To the see crowd that was there search “Nyobeni Tavern”

  4. 🕊🙏🏾🕊My condolences to their families & love ones 🕊

🕊No parents should go through this🕊🤲🏽🕊

🕊Parents need to talk to their kids in early age about drugs & alcohol. It doesn’t help that everywhere you look , kids are Encourage to do drugs & get drunk by making it look like it’s fun🕊

  5. There is so much that is not being said in these reports, it’s infuriating.
    1. Were there any survivors or did everyone in the club die?
    2. Does that include the employees or was it just the patrons
    3. When we’re the bodies discovered and by whom?

Toxicology report hopefully will be swift and provide answers.

  6. As a south African my view and what I have seen in south Africa there is way too much alcohol consumption across basically all groups and ages in RSA.

When I first heard of this incident my first thought was contaminated home-brewed alcohol but hopefully the autopsy results will be made public as to the cause of death
